3 Steps to Create a Cyclic Dimensions in Qlik Sense

If you’re looking to make your Qlik Sense charts more interactive, cyclic dimensions are a great way to do it. A cyclic dimension allows users to switch between different fields—like switching between “Month”, “Quarter”, and “Year”—within a single chart. This helps users view data from different perspectives without creating multiple visualizations.

Here’s how you can create one in just a few steps:

1. Open Master Items
   Go to the Assets Panel → Master items → Dimensions → Click “Create new”.
   
2. Set Up the Cyclic Group
   
   • Select Cyclic.
   • Name your dimension (e.g., Time Period).
   • Add fields (e.g., Month, Quarter, Year).
     
3. Use in a Chart
   Drag the cyclic dimensions into a chart. Click the dimension label in the chart to cycle through the fields.
